The Barbican
set number 1.
I have chosen these 5 photos out of the whole set because I believe that in some way they link because they are all based around the idea of surfaces and focus/unfocused. I like these 5 photos because each surface is different i.e each surface show cases a different texture, however, each photo tends to be unfocused in the background and focused in the foreground.
set number 2.
I have put these 5 particular images together because they all link, they are all based around the idea of reflection, Some are reflected on a pond, some on the floor where it had been raining, a table and a puddle. These reflections allowed the buildings that were being reflected to be slightly distorted in some, such as the fourth images as the water in the pond had ripples in it therefore distorted the reflection being shown, whereas others such the last one shows the reflection really clearly, it also adds effect having the building thats being reflected in the photo too.
set number 3.
These five photos all represent the formal element which is repetition, not all of these forms are exactly the same when they are repeated for example, the image of the lights may prove that they are all they same shape however they are all different colours, another example is the roof tops as they aren't exactly the same due to the plants that are growing off of them; whereas, the two water photos are practically the same thing, same shape and size etc, so they are effective examples of repetition.
set number 4.
I thought that these five images are the most geometric out of the the whole set of photographs as they are full of different shapes and formal elements.
